It is quoted from [[ʿAli b. al-Hussain|Imam Sajjad]], that Jawn was preparing weapons in the tent of Imam Hussain the night before 'Ashura.

Jawn b. Huway (Arabic: جَون بن حُوَی) was a slave of Abu Dhar al-Ghifari and supporter of the Ahl Ahlul Bayt. He was among the prominent martyrs. When he was martyred Imam al-Hussain came to his body and prayed for him.
