Ma'a ar-Rak'ab al-Hussaini is a six-volume book, in six sections, about the investigation of the Hussaini uprising and movement, which was collected by Ali Shawi and other writers.

About the book[edit | edit source]

This book is a descriptive and analytical research book about the uprising and martyrdom of Imam Hussain and the captivity of his family. In this research, the events that took place from Madinah to Makkah, in Makkah, from Makkah to Karbala, in Karbala, from Karbala to Syria, and from Syria to Madinah, are investigated and each volume of the book is dedicated to one of these topics. The sub-title of each volume and the name of its author are as follows:

  • Al-Imam al-Hussein alayhis salaam fi Makkah'tal-Mukarmah, by Najm al-Din Tabasi
  • Waqaeh at-Tareeq mim-Makkah ila Karbala, by Mohammad Javad Tabasi
  • Imam al-Hussein (AS) fi Karbala, by Ezzatullah Molaa'i and Mohammad Ja'far Tabasi
  • Waqeh at-Tareeq min Karbala ilash-Sham, by Muhammad Ja'far Tabasi,
  • Al-Rak'ab al-Husaini fi al-Sham wa minhu ilal-Madinah'tul-Munawarah, by Muhammad Amin Amini.

This book, selected in the Year Book Festival of the Wilayat, was translated into Persian in six volumes with the title “with Hossaini's convoy from Madinah to Madinah “, by Abdul Hossein Binesh.

Content of the book[edit | edit source]

The first volume of the book talks about Imam Hossain's actions during the time of Muawiyah, Yazid's caliphate, the Imam's refusal to pledge allegiance, migration from Madinah, and Hossain's convoy.

The second volume is about the efforts of Imam Hussain in Makkah, the encounters of the enemy with him, and the meetings of some people with the Imam.

The third volume deals with topics such as Hossain's convoy on the way to Iraq, the status of Kufa during the period of Muslim bin Aqeel, his uprising and martyrdom, and the events on the way from Makkah to Karbala.

The fourth volume includes discussions and explanations about the events of Karbala, an abstract of the history of this land until the 60th year of Hijri, the names of Karbala, the companions of Imam Hussain, the battle of Ashura and the martyrdom of the Imam and his companions.

The fifth volume mentions the signs of God's anger following the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, the punishment of the killers and enemies of his Imam, the captives’ convoy in Kufa, their transfer to Syria, and the events that took place between them.

The sixth volume is dedicated to the arrival of the captives’ convoy in Syria to the palace of Yazid, its departure from Syria, its return to Karbala, and then to Madinah.
