Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi(1952- ) is a Pakistani religious leader, scholar and philosopher.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Syed Jawad Naqvi, born in Thipra Syedan, Northwest Frontier Province, known as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan, on 5th March 1952, is a scholar, philosopher, and religious leader of the Pakistani Shia community. He lived in Iran for more than three decades, where he developed his staunch mentality of supporting the Wilayat-e-Faqih and the Islamic Revolution of Iran. However, in Pakistan, Naqvi backs different religious sects to unite under the name of Islam. Although he has a large following in the subcontinent, many Shia scholars in India and Pakistan consider him to create discord among the Shias and misguide the youth.

He Studied at the Qom seminary. Ayatollah Javadi Amoli was one of his teacher.

The real essence of Azadari[edit | edit source]

The book Azadari (Mourning and Lamentation) A Movement by Lady Zainab (S.A) tried to mention the real essence of Azadari. The author, Allama Jawad Naqvi, wants to inform people about the real purpose of Azadar, which was established by Lady Zainab (S.A) to fight oppression and eradicate injustice. According to him, the lessons to be learned from Ashura are Perseverance and Resistance.
