Yazid b. Maghfil
Yazid b. Maghfil al-Ju'fi was a companion of Imam Hussain who was martyred in the battle of Karbala. He was among companions of Imam Ali who remained faithful to Ahl al-Bayt and fought against Yazid's army in support of Imam Hussain.

BiographyEdit
His complete name was Yazid b. Maghfil b. Ju'f (Awf) b. Sa'd al-Ashra (al-Ashira) al-Midhhaji al-Ju'fi.
To avoid confusion, it is worth mentioning that there were two people with the name of Yazid b. Ma'qil; one of them was Yazid b. Ma'qil (Yazid b. Maghfil) al-Ju'fi who was among the companions of Imam Hussain and the martyrs of Karbala and the other was Yazid b. Ma'qil b. 'Umayr b. Rabi'a who was in the army of Umar b. Sa'd in the Battle of karbala and was killed by Burayr b. Khudayr, a companion of Imam .
Companion of the ProphetEdit
He was a companion of Prophet and participated in the Battle of Qadisiyya .[1]
Companion of Imam AliEdit
He was among the companions of Imam Ali who fought against the army of Mu'awiya. Also, he helped imam Ali against Khawarij and led the right wing of his army in the battle which led to the defeat of Khawarij.[2]
Companion of Imam HussainEdit
After the martyrdom of Imam Ali, Yazid b. Maghfil remained faithful to Ahl al-Bayt and became a companion of Imam Hussain. Yazid b. Maghfil joined Imam Hussain in Mecca together with Hajjaj b. Masruq and accompanied Imam to Karbala. On the way, when Imam arrived in Qasr Bani Maqatil and saw the tent of Ubayd Allah b. Hurr al-Ju'fi, sent Hajjaj b. Masruq al-Ju'fi and Yazid b. Maghfil al-Ju'fi to Ubayd Allah to invite him to join him.
MartyrdomEdit
His name was included among martyrs of Karbala in Ziayat Nahiyat al-Muqaddasa[3] and Rajabiyya ziyarat of Imam Hussain[4]
