Ziarat of Maqam Ru'us al-Shuhada

Ziarat of Maqam Ru'us al-Shuhada is a special prayer to be recited as Zaeer intends to visit the place where heads of the Martyrs of Karbala were buried. Maqam Ru’us al-Shuhada (a place where the heads of the Martyrs of Karbala are buried) is located near Bab al-Saghir.

Near Bab al-Saghir, there is a burial place of the heads of sixteen Martyrs of Karbala as follows:

• Uthman b. Ali
• Umar b. Ali
• Ali al-Akbar b. al-Hussain
• Abd Allah b. al-Hussain
• Qasim b. al-Hasan
• Ja'far b. Aqil
• Abd Allah b. Aqil
• Muhammad b. Muslim b. Aqil
• Awn b. Abd Allah b. Ja'far
• Abd Allah b. Awf
• Hurr b. Yazid
• Habib b. Muzahir

Ziarat in Arabic

اَلسَّلامُ‏ عَلَیْکُمْ یا اَنْصارَ اللَّهِ و اَنْصارَ رَسُولِه

و اَنْصارَ فاطِمَةَ و الحسن و الحسین و انصار الاسلام

أَشْهَدُ لَقَدْ نَصَحْتُمُ للهَ وَ جَاهَدْتُمْ فِی سَبِیلِهِ

فَجَزَاکمُ اللهُ مِنَ الْإِسْلَامِ وَ أَهْلِهِ أَفْضَلَ الْجَزَاءِ

فُزْتُمْ وَ اللهِ فَوْزاً عَظِیماً

أَشْهَدُ أَنَّکمْ أَحْیاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّکمْ یرْزَقُونَ

أَشْهَدُ أَنَّکمُ الشُّهَدَاءُ وَ السُّعَدَاءُ وَ أَنَّکمُ الْفَائِزُونَ فِی دَرَجَاتِ الْعُلَی

وَ السَّلَامُ عَلَیکمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَکاتُهُ

Ziarat in English

Peace be on you, O the helpers of Allah and helpers of Allah’s Messenger

And the helpers of Fatimah, Hasan and Hussain and helpers of Islam

I testify that you served Allah and strove for Allah’s sake

So, may Allah reward you on behalf of Islam and its people with the best of rewarding.

By Allah I swear, you did win a great success

I bear witness that you are the true martyrs and the true happy ones

and you are the winners in the most elevated ranks

Peace and Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you
