Abstract of chaptersEdit
Part 1: Husayn and His Foes, MartyrdomEdit
The author first mentions the leaders of the Umayyad tribe from the time of the Quraysh polytheists of Mecca Hejaz who fought relentlessly against the spread of Islam during the time of the Prophet of Islam including Abu Sufyan, Mu'awiyah and Yazid. Then provides some documents which reveal Mu'awiyah’s instructions to his governors to do. He intends to provide an introduction to the start of the Ashura disaster. He describes how Mu'awiyah pushed Imam al-Hassan out of power after signing a treaty with him the terms of which were, indeed, honourable and fair, had they only been implemented. At the end, he points to the major cause that contributed to the deplorable status quo of the Muslims of the time and is still contributing to that of our own and will continue to do so till the end of time.
Part 2: A Summary of Post-Martyrdom EventsEdit
This part lists the behaviors that were applied to al-Husayn and his Ahl al-Bayt after Ashura by Umayyads. They rode their horses and trampled upon the body of the fragrant flower of the Messenger of Allah and his followers. They left the corpses of the Master of the Youths of Paraidse and those of his Ahl al-Bayt and companions unwashed, unshrouded, and unburied, exposed to the wind and to the wild beasts of the desert.
Part 3: The Revolution’s OutcomeEdit
When Umayyads first became known to the people for what really were, a feeling of shame grew greater and greater among them, transforming itself into sincere repentance and translating into open and massive popular revolutions against the Umayyads’ regime of terror and, in the end, succeeding in putting an end to Yazid’s authority and to that of his likes. Thus, al-Husayn’s revolution prompted the public to shake the dust of neo-jahiliyya brought about by the Umayyads and to stir, in a dynamic movement, to action to demolish all its edifices and altars.
This part reviews some of these massive popular uprisings.
Part 4: Husayn’s Successors - Nine Infallible ImamsEdit
This part is a brief account of nine sinless and infallible Imams (Husayn’s Successors) who led the Islamic nation and are still leading it to the Straight Path, the path of happiness in the life of this world and salvation in the life to come.
1. Imam Ali Ibn Al-Husayn Zain Al-Abidin
2. Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir
4. Imam Musa Al-Kadhim
6. Imam Muhammad At-Taqi
7. Imam ‘Ali An-Naqi
9. The Awaited One, Imam Al-Mahdi
ConclusionEdit
In the last part the author quotes the merits of Surats of Quran.
