Abu Khalid Amr b. Khalid b. Hakim b. Hizam al-Asadi al-Saydawi was among the noble people of Kufa and a devotee of Ahl al-Bayt .[1]

In the Battle of Karbala[edit | edit source]

Amr was among Kufan Shi'a who gave allegiance to Muslim b. Aqil. After Muslim was martyred, he fled from Kufa.[2]

Escaping the army of Ibn Ziad, Amr fled from Kufa accompanied by his servant Sa'd, Mujammi' b. Abd Allah al-A'idhi and Nafi' b. Hilal and with the guidance of Tirimmah joined the caravan of Imam Hussain in Udhayb al-Hijanat. Hurr wanted to capture or return them, but Imam prevented him from that. [3]
