== Biography ==
Seyyed Hossein Nasr was born in Tehran on 7<sup>th</sup> April 1922 in a family of learned people. Nasr’s father and grandfather both were physicians. They were the descendants of Mulla Seyyed Muhammad Taqi Poshtmashhad, the famous Sufi from Kashan, whose tomb, next to that of Safavid king Shah Abbas, is a still visited by people today  

Being a  powerful speaker with appealing personality makes Nasr one of the most demanded scholars at seminars, conferences, radio and television shows. His regular appearances at public lectures contributes to his being one of the most famous scholars of Islam and Religion. During the period of his education, Nasr travelled to various places in Europe including Italy, Britain, France, and Switzerland.
