==On the Day of Ashura== In the Battle of Karbala, Othman b. Khalid was fighting on the side of Omar b. Sa'd's army. Different sources have mentioned him as the murderer of Abd al-Rahman b. Aqil or among his murderers who helped Bushr b. Sut al-Qabidi to murder Abd al-Rahman and stole his clothes. Some sources have mentioned about his role in the [[martyrdom]] of Abd Allah Akbar b. Aqil as well. However, in ''Akhbar al-Tiwal'', Abd Allah b. Urwa al-Khath'ami is introduced as the murderer of Abd al-Rahman b. 'Aqil. In the [[Ziyarah al-Shuhada]], Omar b. Khalid b. Asad al-Juhani is cursed as the murderer of Abd al-Rahman b. Aqil.
